Apparently, the newest and coolest gadget is currently regarding compatible with BMW that are compatible with other iPods from Apple. The iPhone also should work with Bluetooth-equipped BMW. This is not a surprise since BMW is known for be one of the leading automakers in the manufacture of Bluetooth devices work in cars.
June 29 BMW became the first manufacturer to announce a fully integrated system for the new Apple iPhone.
Initially, the German automaker will offer models integration for the U.S. but with international sales as the iPhone one, BMW is likely to extend through the technology to other markets.
In statement made on their website, bmwusa.com, BMW said: "BMW welcomes the Apple iPhone – is the kind of innovative approach that you would expect from BMW. In 2004, BMW was the first to integrate the iPod in BMW vehicles and have customers take full control of their music on the road. Therefore, it seemed logical that BMW be among the first owners to ensure iPhone have the same ability to enjoy their music, plus the added benefits of Bluetooth ® hands-free calling across our model line. We are pleased to announce that BMW owners can use their iPhone in this way since the first day. … Access to the iPod (or iPhone's iPod application) through vehicle controls and central information or radio display is only possible on cars equipped with iPod / USB. The iPod / USB interface is available in 3 and Series 5 with the production of 03/07, 04/07, with the production X5 and 6 Series with 09/07 production date. More details will be available soon.
